Hello, does the Pro version of the WP Optin Wheel prevent the associated MailChimp owner’s email address from populating the email address field? I’s prefer the field to be blank. Thanks.

MailChimp was required in order to set up the wheel – will it break functionality if I unsubscribe to MailChimp?

The premium version does not require MailChimp but has an array of choices to integrate the wheel with another marketing tool.

That said, I’m not sure I understand your first question. The email address field on the wheel is always blank.

Thanks Maartin. I’m not sure as to why, but I had even used a browser on a completely different machine and the email address was still automatically populated with the address I used to register with MailChimp. I’ve since deleted my MailChimp account (about 10 minutes ago), and it’s still populating the field with my email address. I then deleted the email address from my Yoast settings, but it still shows up. Can’t say what’s going on for sure quite yet.

…also, I’ve completely cleaned the cache both on the website and on the browser.

Since I’ve deleted the associated MailChimp account, I can no longer edit my previously created wheel I’m assuming because I was using a free account. I’m going to abandon my efforts now since I’m not convinced this is an appropriate solution for the website, but I appreciate the assistance I received from you both.

I think this was just your browser remembering previous form data and pre-polulating the form field with it (it’s a feature in most browsers). Removing cache won’t solve this. You have to remove more browser data from the settings. You’ll notice if you open your page in a different browser or on a different machine, the problem should be gone.

I’ll close this issue since you’ve moved on.

    Kind regards
    Maarten

I wish it was as simple as that Maartin, but I used multiple browsers on multiple different computers – some are miles away that I connected to remotely. Maybe it’s due to the recent Divi update, but I’m positive as I’ve been in IT for 30+ years that it wasn’t due to browser caching. Thanks Maartin.
