Email Address Update in Admin General Settings

When updating my email address in general settings, the confirmation email does not process to my new email address inbox so that I can confirm the change / update. Please advise further. Thanks in advance.
Also, the gravatar image does not update when going through the required steps at en.gravatar.com website.
