• Hi there,

I recently purchased a company which included the blog on wordpress. The previous owner is trying to change the password and allow us to get in however the email address that she was using is no longer valid and she did not login after all password were changed in June so she has no access to the email and therefor can’t login to wordpress. We would like this to get transferred over so we can begin using it but currently none of us can login. What is the proper way to get help for this?

    Thanks much!
    Stacey

  • Does the former user, or you have access to the phpmyadmin that hosts the data for the wordpress? You can manually change it using that, you just need access to that first.

Or do you mean wordpress hosts it for you?

I will be honest and do not know much about it but here is the link to the blog. https://bouncingbabiesblog.wordpress.com/

    Thanks,

Hmm, you will likely have some sort of control panel which allows the backing up of files for the blog, but it doesn’t work if you don’t know the password.

You may need to have the previous owner get in contact with WordPress to get her password and email fixed. I’m not entirely sure how a wordpress hosted blog works, but it has something allows you to access the data, but you have to know the login credentials for it to actually work. Sorry. ??

Since it’s a blog hosted on wordpress.com rather than a self hosted blog, the forums or support page over at wordpress.com would probably be able to help you better.

Thanks for your help. I will work with wordpress through the support page.
