Hello there @rayeason,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Upon review, it seems that the emails sent through MailPoet with the PDF certificate attachments from WebinarPress are being affected by MailPoet’s handling of attachments in transactional emails. MailPoet, by design, does not include attachments in emails sent through its sending service. This approach is taken to mitigate bandwidth concerns and reduce the risk of emails being caught by spam filters due to security implications associated with email attachments.
Given that these emails are likely classified as transactional – being sent automatically in response to a user’s action (attending a webinar) – the attachments are systematically stripped from the emails to adhere to these guidelines, regardless of whether MailPoet’s internal sending method or a third-party sending service configured within MailPoet is used.
To ensure your participants receive their certificates without interruption, we recommend an alternative approach that aligns with best practices for email deliverability:
- Send Links to Files Instead: Rather than attaching the PDF certificate directly to the email, consider hosting the PDF file on your server or a cloud storage service. You can then include a link to download the PDF in the email. This method ensures users can easily access their certificates while alleviating the attachment limitation.
- Use Default WordPress Sending Method for Attachments: If it’s crucial for your operation to send emails with attachments directly, you can configure your site to use the default WordPress sending method for all site emails. This can be done under the MailPoet > Settings > Advanced tab by selecting “Send all site emails with:” and choosing the WordPress default option.
Should you have additional concerns or require assistance with these adjustments, please feel free to reach out.
