• Hi,

I’ve extensively tested (56 different tests combinations) PMP with Buddypress on a clean install of WordPress, other plugins off, in debug mode. I’ve emailed and phoned the developer with no reply.

    Buddypress Version 1.9.1
    PMP Version 1.7.6
    Wordpress 3.8.1

This plugin has had some email problems previously:

    Tests

    • Using wordpress@mydomain.com
    • I’ve tested emails with the plugin wp smtp plugin in both smtp and wpmail(), this works, so it’s not my server settings.
    • plugins off
    • clean install of WP 3.8.1
    • With ‘Default WP notification email’ ticked and unticked.

It works when Buddypress is uninstalled, because it provides a different signup screen. However, when Buddypress is installed, it does not work. Even beginning with the ‘membership-levels’ page does not send the confirmation message.

In other words: there’s a bug with Buddypress. Yes, I’ve read the FAQ that I should find and fix the conflict, or pay for you to do it. This is buddypress though.

If there was a way to skip pages after signup, free members don’t need an invoice, etc, then that would be worth a premium membership.

Thanks in advance for the resolve,

    P

P, sorry for the slow reply by phone. Our core team has been away last week.

We’d like to get the plugin working with BuddyPress in this way. To be clear you’d like:

    1. To be able to use the BuddyPress registration page when PMPro is enabled.

    2. To be able to use the BuddyPress email confirmation option with PMPro enabled.

    3. Use PMPro for paid members only.

I’ll try to find a work around for this. In the meantime, you can try to redirect your members to sign up on the PMPro pages and can offer a free level and use this addon here for email confirmation with PMPro.

Integrating PMPro with BuddyPress (or BuddyPress alone really) can be a pretty intensive process that requires custom code.

How to add email confirmation on paid memberships pro

Confirmation emails are not going when someone registers with PMPro signup form. How do I fix this? @strangerstudios

    Huzanf and Riyaz,

Check email signup with buddypress / pmpro disabled.
If that fails, check your firewall / server email settings.

    After both of those work:

The problem is normally fixable with a plugin to handle your smtp settings.

See ‘wp smtp plugin’ or equivalent.

    Hi tgrrr,
Thanks for your response. So if I’m correct you’re asking me to disable pmpro and try to register using buddypress?

Could you please share the php file of pmpro email activation?

    Thanks in advance.
    Seasons’ Greetings,

    Huzanf,

To start with: test if it’s a problem with: SMTP or plugin compatibility.

This isn’t about modifying the php from the original. Before you start adjusting coding. This is the equivalent of turning it off and on again. It’s in every forum on WordPress, repeated over and over again.

Disable all plugins. Including Buddypress if you’re using it. Signup to test if the email is sent. If not, fix your server SMTP settings.

If it works, enable pmpro. Test the email setting.
