Email Confirmation and Email Send Out

I just downloaded the mailnmunch plugin today. I created a “Blog Updates” form that people can use when they are at my site. My understanding stops there. I assume the people that sign up will be placed on a list somewhere.
Questions
Where is that somewhere?
After signing up, do they get a confirmation email?
Does Mailmunch actually send out the emails when I put up a new blog post?
If not, what kind of plugin should I be looking at?
