• I have pinned down a problem with Email Encorder and I wondered if you could help me understand:

We use “The Event Calendar” plugin, which uses slug pages to display and event calendar. When we have Email Encoder installed and enabled (Full Page Scan) it breaks the pages completely. No admin bar at the top and no calendar displayed. Just a blank page with some theme elements.

Through troubleshooting I’ve found that switching settings to “WordPress filters” instead fixes the problem, but I don’t know what that setting means exactly. Why is it “not recommended” and what is the difference between the two settings?

Any ideas of how to fix the full-functionality?
    Thanks!
    Troy

Hey @kingdingbat – Thanks a lot for your message, as well as for using our plugin.
The difference is that by default, we scan the whole page against possible emails while using the WordPress filter only scans it about WordPress-internal content.

To check where the issue comes from, I suggest trying two things:

    1. Turn off script encoding. You can do that by heading over to the Email Encoder settings page. After activating and saving the advanced settings, you will find another settings item under the group “Protect…” called “no script tags” – simply check it, save it and see if the error persists.

If it persists, I suggest checking your debug.log files for possible errors. If you could share them with me then, this would be superb.
    Thank you already very much.

Were you able to figure out the issue? I was thinking about trying this out but TEC is a huge part of my site.
