I just installed this plugin and connected it to our client’s account. That all worked smoothly. I created a form to embed on the page – selected the corresponding list and styling.

But the email field does not show up on the front end and we do get this strange error when I try to submit the form anyway. It was the same way before I added captcha. And it’s the same no matter what list I choose.

Also on the list view it says No list selected, but when I go into the form to make changes, it still has the list selected that I chose.

Hi @pinksharpii do you have a link to the site where you’re trying to use this at? The email field being missing is a little suspect, but I’m wondering if other styles or javascript from the page is having unintended effects on our field.

The error in the 2nd image is a little suspect, but it also may just mean that it’s missing some expected meta data.

Also the fact that the list table isn’t finding its associated list also has me suspicious. Either it’s legitimately not saved somehow, or it’s just not finding it with the query being made.

As an extra check, do you see anything when you go to the “Lists” menu item? It should show the associated lists with the chosen account, after doing a sync into the WordPress install.

    It’s in the footer here.

I don’t see the HTML for that field in the inspector or view source at all.

The forms are being correctly associated with a list now in the Forms list view in the admin. https://snipboard.io/FvWC2y.jpg Not sure why it was delayed showing up. I’m able to submit the form without getting that strange error on the front end. It goes through and says thank you for subscribing even though there isn’t an email field to fill out.

And yes all the lists show up on the Lists page in admin.

Can you try putting the shortcode that is somewhere besides a text widget? Perhaps in a temporary page or so? I’m curious if the widget code is somehow potentially stripping things out, though why just the email field would be odd.

Good to hear that some of the other parts are working better now.

It looks like this plugin does not work with Magic Fields installed. the map_to field is not getting stored in the form’s meta for the email field. It saves the meta correctly for other fields like First Name

Interesting. Is this Magic Fields plugin downloadable somewhere? I recall a similar named plugin from many years ago, but not sure that’s going to be the same one. This is the one I’m thinking of https://magicfields.org/

Yes that is the one. The client has not had a ton of budget to overhaul their site that was built using Magic Fields a few years ago.

Will see if we can recreate at all and then if so, see if there’s something we can do to adjust/prevent. No guarantees yet just in case the site has a specific setup that is playing the major part, as opposed to it just being present.

Can you verify what version of MagicFields is being used?

    We are using 2.3.3.1

Thanks for confirming, we’ll see what we can come up with initially with that.

Wanted to chime in quick to say we haven’t forgotten you as a whole, but we’re having a devil of a time determining where the conflict is coming from. We have been able to confirm recreation, so there’s that.

I have to suspect some sort of deep seeded conflict between Magic Fields and a library we use in the plugin named CMB2.

    Very curious.

That said, for the sake of you getting your site going and contact collecting started, we do still have the copy/paste-ready embedable forms from ConstantContact.com that is just as valid.

Thank you for digging into this.

The problem we’re having is they are receiving a lot of spam signup emails and the only way to add captcha to the form is with the WP plugin.

The form on the site now is just an HTML form that a prior developer had inserted in the template. I don’t know that we can add a captcha to the form when the POST URL the external Concon signup URL.
