My email field appears in the admin section when I am creating a new listing and I have been adding email addresses to all of them.
However, when viewing the actual listing no email address appears.

I checked in my Directory Admin > Manage Form Fields and I have a spot for email address that has a validator of: email, required and the last options it says Required, In Excerpt, In Listing.

    What am I missing here?

I discovered the issue which has led to a new issue.
The problem was the Field Validator option. Naturally, it is set to “Email Validator” but once I turn this to “No Validation” the email addresses appear. However, they are not clickable email addresses.

What I tried next was changing the Field Type from “Textfield” to “URL” hoping that will create an email link. Instead it makes the email address a website address and doesn’t work.

For whatever reason when it is set to Email Validator it doesn’t work even though all of the addresses are in this structure [email protected]

    How do I fix this!?

    Hi crobley,

First, what version of BD are you running?

Second, can you show screenshots of what you see when the Email validator is enabled?

Third, have you tried eliminating a theme or plugin conflict? Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

Report back on what you find.

Im using the latest version of BD.
When I enable “Email Validation” the Email Address field in the listing disappears.

I had to disable all of my plugins before with this app before to figure something out and it proved to be a colossal problem disabling them all and re-enabling them. (The site is massive with a forum) So I would like to figure this out without doing a global disable of plugins if possible.

I sympathize with you, but in order to truly diagnose this, you really need to disable all of the plugins.

If you have a set of email-related plugins (ones that alter emails that you know of), disable those first.

But disabling part of them only tells part of the story, and from what you describe above, that sounds very much like some kind of conflict.

Without knowing the source of it, we can provide very limited support here since we don’t know what is wrong. ?? We’ve tried what you suggest above, but the email fields do not disappear when the email validator is on, so we need more information.

Please post the requested screenshots as well.
