I got an email from Mailchimp titled “An important change that may impact an integration you use” saying that an integration I have is using an expiring API — needs to be upgraded to 3.0. The only integration I use (that I know of) is MC4WP, which API does MC4WP use?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    MC4WP uses the v3 API (since 2016).
Maybe it’s another plugin, or are you using a very old version of one of our plugins such as the old UserSync add-on?

Thanks! No other plugins. I wish Mailchimp could provide more info about what is accessing their API.

To add to what my colleague said, here’s some info that may be useful in figuring this out:

    • As of Mailchimp for WordPress v4.0 (released in 2016), our plugin uses the latest (v3) API of Mailchimp. Custom code could still access the v2 API through some classes that we ship, but the plugin itself was not.
    • As of Mailchimp for WordPress v4.9.x (released in 2023) the classes to access Mailchimp’s older v2 API were removed in its entirety. So if you are on version 4.9 or later then you can be sure that the v2 API isn’t accessed through our plugin or any custom code building on top of our plugin.

Ok, thanks a lot! I have 4.9.4. I’ll wait and see if I get anymore notifications from Mailchimp.
