Found out my email is not working.
Tried re updating word press. Can’t seem to find the theme creator. to submit for support.
disabled the theme’s contact form and downloaded “Contact Form Builder” to try and fix this but still not receiving emails from the form.

    website is https://www.on3online.com

any help would be appreciated, thank you!

thanks! I tried SMTP and PHP and I still can’t get any form to send me email from the website. I don’t know if I configured it wrong, didn’t seem too complicated. Thought maybe the template had a problem and even switched from different existing templates I have but no go. when i use the test function in this plugin it works. Get an email from wordpress@on3line but no forms work still after they are filled out.

sorry I should have been more clear. My actual email that I use to contact people is fine. The problem is the contact page on my website, I can’t seem to get it to send emails.

    Hey Try using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/postman-smtp/ plugin

I always use it to troubleshoot any problem with my forms ??

It seems that the issue is related to your host. Without checking server logs, it is not possible to tell actual root cause. If you are using shared hosting, you should report this to your host.

@kailash his email is working however so it wouldn’t be his hosting but rather the disconnect from sendmail php.

@relm that said, your host might be blocking the mail ports too but if they are nothing you can do about that. How about going through something like SendGrid. Here’s a good tutorial how to use similar plugin and create an account with SendGrid for the fact of just sending emails, its free (SendGrid).

@relm, actually there’s a good plugin you can use to plug in SendGrid and give that a go with your forms; https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/sendgrid-email-delivery-simplified/screenshots/

@CureWP yeah, I contacted the host anyway and they said that might be it so they are checking on it now. I will try send grid too! thanks!

@relm sounds good, keep us posted if you work it out. You are welcome. ??

Im using host gator and this is the replies i got:

Thank you for contacting Hostgator. It appears you have configured your WordPress contact form to use an SMTP connection to send mail. I have opened the outbound SMTP port for your account. However it appears you have not yet configured your plugin “WP-Mail-SMTP.” Once you have properly configured the plugin to connect to an existing email account you should be able to use your contact form with no problems.

this still didnt wok so i let them know and this was their last reply:

I checked the contact form and it is sending out from the cPanel user name. If you are using PHPmail (this is the default for most contact forms) that is deprecated and the forms need to be updated to use SMTP authentication. While we are not web developers and cannot recode the form for you, we can provide the information you need to authenticate.

    server name: localhost
    port: 25
    username: full email address
    password: the email address’ password

If this does not work, please let us know which email address you set the form to authenticate as, and how we can replicate a send attempt on our end. This will allow us to check the logs on our server to see why that is failing.

For more information on sending email with PHP and SMTP authentication, please take a look at these pages:

@artur Bobinski sendgrid was slightly complicated to set up so i put it on backburner till i could play with it. Lots of info but i needed a little more laymen direction but i got it and it’s working now so that’s all that matters lol

thanks so much for your help everyone. I dont know why or how long it was down but I’m just happy it’s up now.

i wish I knew why it stopped though. It was working fine for years when i first set it up so i dont know why this happened.

    thanks again everyone
