Email log in details will not connect with imap port 993

    Hi

    I have installed Postie as I would like to be able to send posts by email, and I have been through and through the settings in gmail settings and in postie.

    I have saved and and retyped everything, and it says unable to connect I did print screen the message but can’t attach on here.

    Exact message:

    “the user name and password provided were not accepted for imap.gmail.com server on port 993”

    I am hoping its something simple and I’m just being a wally.

    I am so grateful to anyone who is able to tell me what I have done wrong

    Hi ya yes I have been following that booklet by the letter, and it won’t work, I have been back into gmail settings and the postie settings and done my absolute best to ensure the email address and password are exactly the same on both, I have changed them, saved, backed out and back in so many times today, leaving a time gap and each time it fails to connect.

    I really don’t know what else to try

    Maybe it’s just not going to work for me

    Hi Wayne I have installed the support plugin and just tried the Test config button and its coming up with the same message as yesterday. If I try debug it comes up with similar message. Hope its an easy fix.
