well does not notification for comments by the author be disabled?

well, that applies to both the scenarios. if i reply to my own post, i dont get a notification for that in lets say phpBB, IPB or vBulletin.
Similarly, if i comment in my own blog, i think the backend should be smart enough not to send the notification mail ?? Just a thought…

That’s a different topic than what erogers was talking about, but that’s true. I’ll make a patch for that.
