Email notification

I recently updated to the new wordpress 2.3 but a plugin i was using before (WordPress Email Notification Plugin v2.3.1) now doesnt work. The problem just seems to be that it cannot access the database now. On the plugin Manage page there is an error saying the password is wrong (although it can still access database information) but most importantly the Subscribe page cant connect to the database.

Has 2.3 changed anything with the database connections?
