• Hi,

I don’t receive an email notification anymore, if someone posts a new comment on my blog. I think it worked in the past. I haven’t changed the WP settings, so there is still an email address configured in WP and also email notification is turned on. However, I moved the blog to a new server (reinstalled everything) with a newer PHP version.

What PHP function is WP using for sending emails? Because I know that the ordinary email() function works on the server. Any other ideas what might be the reason for my problem?

    Thanks,

    Sebastian

Are there any special folders with write access needed to make that work? I don’t get any PHP error messages in my log files, so how to dig for this problem?

I was able to solve this problem using the WP Mail SMTP plugin. I configured there to use wp_mail(), so I’m not really using the SMTP functionality. But it works anyway. Seems like a bug in WP, because there must a difference on how the PHP mail() function is used.
