• I don’t know what happened but I am no longer receiving email notification of comments. It used to work fine and I haven’t touched anything in my configuration files and yes, the “email me when anyone posts a comment” option is thicked. What can be the cause of this?
I have my blog hosted on godaddy.com has anybody had similar problems with this host? If I must write to the support service, what should I ask? The email where notifications are sent is the one in the “profile” tab or in the “general options” tag? Well in my case it’s the same and the email address works well.

  • From 2.01, I’ve upgraded to 2.02 and still my email notification isn’t working. Does anyone know how I can solve this?

I’m having the same issue and I am using WP 2.02 but have been for a while now. Not a new upgrade, but my comments stopped working today.

Same here – no comment notification emails running 2.0.1. ??

In the past 24 hours this has also happened to me. Comment notification doesn’t work, contact forum messages no longer work and if I use the word press database backup plugin it no longer emails me the file. I’m using 2.0.2 and haven’t changed anything on my end in weeks.

Has anyone come up with a solution? Thanks in advance!

    bump

I just solved a similar issue. However I upgraded from 1.5 to 2.02 and changed hosts in the same day. The problem was caused by a server level setting on the new host.

I host on my own VPS (Virtual Private Server). If you host with a hosting service, the information below may help to tell them what they need to do.

The mail application is on the server is exim. The file /var/log/exim_paniclog provided the clue with the text:

1FVf4s-0007O0-R5 failed to expand condition "${perl{checkspam}}" for literal router: Mail sent by user nobody, UID 99, being discarded due to sender restrictions in WHM->Tweak Settings at /etc/exim.pl line 394.

The clue was WHM->Tweak Settings. The reference is to the Cpanel Web Hosting Manager tool which controls server-wide configuration that impacsa multiple hosts. On the Tweak Settings page, in the mail section, there’s an option that reads:

Prevent the user ‘nobody’ from sending out mail to remote addresses (php and cgi scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using phpsuexec and suexec respectively.)

I unchecked the box and everything worked.

I haven’t found @mail() or any emali notify related function in the functions.php ,so does there still exist this notify function in wordpress2.0?

Does anybody answer these questions anymore? I am having email notify problems. I cannot find where WordPress stores the outgoing server to use to send mail. Where is it? Someone please answer.
