I have a question, not a troubleshooting issue. We use Woo Commerce on our website (mispillionarts.org) for people to sign up for classes. I get an email notification when they do so. When they register, they have to put in their name/phone/email. On the email sent to me (as admin) all I get is their name and email. If I log in to my website I can pull up their record and see the phone but this is very tedious. Is there a way to have the email sent to me also show their phone number?
    thanks for the help!!

    Hi @mispillionarts

What method do you use for your customers to sign up for classes? Depending on the answer to that, we can give you some ideas for how to change that email.

We use PayPal – I think that’s what you are asking me?

Sorry, I meant are you using a product as the sign-up method? When they purchase their seat in the class, what process do they go through when adding it to the cart and checking out?

Basically, I’m attempting to figure out how you’re collecting their name/phone/email when they register. Is it just via the billing information for the purchase?

they go to the class they want, select member or non-member ticket and indicate how many tickets, click and they go to the cart, then check out with PayPal. Does that help? Our website is https://www.mispillionarts.org

Thank you for that clarification! So the phone number should by default be included on the order notification emails sent to you.

Here’s a screenshot of what I see on my test site order notifications: https://d.pr/i/shEO3P

If you’re not seeing the phone number, it’s possible you have a template override in place for the New Order email (WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > New Order) that’s changing that default behavior. Or if you’re using some sort of email notification customization plugin, that could effect this default behavior as well.

right – I know they have to enter their phone, I am just not seeing it on the email I get. I will check about a possible override. thank you for the help.

I followed your instructions: New Order email (WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > New Order) and I don’t see anything that says “check here if you want to see the phone number” or some such instruction. I took a screenshot of what I see but I am not sure how to attach in this thread.

In fact, I don’t get an email at all from Woo Commerce when someone joins or signs up for a class. I get an email notification from PayPal. Maybe that is the issue? Is a PayPal email overriding the Woo Commerce one?

It’s a little thing but would help me out a great deal!

    Hi @mispillionarts

The New Order email should include the phone number. It may be that the active theme is applying template overrides to the default WooCommerce emails. If you navigate to WooCommerce > Status there should be a section labeled Templates.

If there are templates specific to the email listed there, you’ll want to contact the theme developers for assistance.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. If you have any other questions please feel free to start a new thread.
