Email notifications for Forminator submissions from Germany aren’t received. I also tried Forminator > Submissions > (Submitted form entry) RESEND EMAIL NOTIFICATION button, but it still doesn’t send email. However, when I try resending a different form that didn’t fail before, it works and sends the email.

What could be the reason? Could you please help?

    Thanks you!

    Hi @vulcanizer,

I hope you are keeping well today and sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue.

Does the problem only occur when the form is submitted from Germany? Are notification emails received when the form is submitted from other locations?

Could you install the Email Log plugin and check if it logs any errors related to these notification emails? Please download the plugin from here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-log/

We look forward to hearing back from you and help you debug the issue further.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

    Hello Nebu,

Thank you for your assistance. I’ve just added the plugin. We received a form from Germany without an issue yesterday, so the issue is probably not location-related. I will keep you posted here providing the log details next time we run into an email notification issue again.

Thank you for your help and have a great weekend!

    Hello Nebu,

Here’s the screenshot of the logs. We failed to receive notification emails from a couple of more submissions. When I try ‘RESEND NOTIFICATION EMAIL’ button, it still fails to email, but it shows in WP Mail Log.

Any ideas how we can find out what the problem is? Thanks again

    Hi @vulcanizer

    Thank you for the update.

I can’t see anything wrong in the screenshot, but based on your description seems related to WordPress email itself or your email provider.

Forminator uses the native wp_mail to send the emails so it shouldn’t have any blocker in Forminator side, unless you are using any anti spam plugin such as clean talk or Akismet that would prevent the submission at all, but then it wouldn’t be visible in the submissions page either.

Had you tried a SMTP plugin?

If not yet, can you try installing any SMTP plugin or use WPMU DEV Branda ( available in WordPress > plugins > add new ) then configure SMTP, you can test the Google SMTP which is free: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#smtp https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#gmail

Let us know the result you got.
    Best Regards

Thank you for your help; I really appreciate it. I installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin and connected it to Google. I tried the ‘RESEND NOTIFICATION EMAIL’ button for a form whose email had failed before. It successfully sent the email; however, shortly after the email was received, Google sent an ‘There was an error and your email couldn’t be delivered’ email from [email protected] for some reason. I also tried a form that we successfully received before, and we didn’t receive error emails for the forms that always worked before.

Thanks again and have a great week ahead…

    Hi @vulcanizer

    Thank you for response!

The error email from “mailer-daemon” that you got means that the issue is now at recipient end.

Such email means that on the site everything was done correctly and e-mail was triggered, then SMTP server at Google (which is a 3rd-party external system) also processed it correctly but then it turned out it was not possible to deliver e-mails.

But it’s difficult to say what could have caused it. The message usually should include some additional details but if it doesn’t, it may mean that recipient address is incorrect or has some sort of spam filters (that reject receiving those messages instead of just filtering it), it may mean that recipient inbox if full or disabled or that recipient e-mail domain is on some sort of blocklist…

It’s really hard to say but if you got such message from Google mailer-daemon it means that the delivery fail is “outside” of the site/Forminator and your server.

So did you try with different target e-mail addresses and is it happening with all of them or only with some specific one(s)?

Does this error message (from “mailer-daemon”) include any additional information other than just “there was an error”?

    Kind regards,
    Adam
