    So it is still making backups, right, but you are not getting the emails any more?

    Did you check your spam?

    Can you confirm that other emails from your server are coming through?

    Did this problem start when you upgraded to WP 4.4?

    The answers are;

    Yes, still making backups, just not emailing
    All spam folders checked. I even tried different emails (work and gmail)

    Emails from the server are going through from this email- [email protected]

    No, it stopped happening on Sunday of this week.

    My plugin uses the same basic method for sending mail as any WordPress emails generated by your site. Since nothing has changed in my plugin and it sounds like it stopped getting through before you upgraded to 4.4, then I would suspect that it’s a mail server issue on BlueHost’s side. Maybe their server got blacklisted and cannot send mail or your database has grown to a size that is not allowed to be sent as an attachment.

    It would help to know if other emails are going out from that server at all. Can you try the “Forgot password” link on your login page to see if it will send you the password reset verification email?

    Hi,

    I actually did the forget password scenario to get that [email protected] email address…I wanted to verify today that it is working.

    The emails stopped working on Dec 6 and that was two full days before the upgrade (which I didn’t know happened this week). There could be a correlation to the upgrade. The backup is running on both a large site and a smaller site, so I suspect it could be bluehost?

    Any other ideas?

    So you have two sites on the same BlueHost account that have different size DB Backup files and they both stopped email the backups on the same day? That definitely sounds like a BlueHost issue.

    What were the sizes of the last DB Backup files that were sent to you before they stopped coming in?

    One was 19.2 MB I think I will hit up bluehost.

    Good idea, let me know what they say ??

    Also, based on the size of your last backup that was emailed, your backup file could be over 20MB now and that might be the limit for email attachments on BlueHost’s outgoing mail server. I wonder too, is the Compression option checked on the Settings page? If not that might bring the size of your back down to within that limit.
