    Good day

When I send an invoice to a customer for a subscription order, the customer receives an email with a payment link. When the customer clicks the link he gets redirected to the checkout process (ref: woocommerce-subscriptions\woocommerce-subscriptions\vendor\woocommerce\subscriptions-core\includes\class-wcs-cart-renewal.php). When I send an invoice to a customer for an order with simple products, the customer receives an email with a payment link. When the customer clicks the link he gets redirected to the account page with a payment form. Is there a way to handle simple products orders the same way as subscription orders?

    Thank you
    Mirco

  • Hi,

When I send an invoice to a customer for an order with simple products

I understand you are looking for some type of same user experience, the site behavior should be the same (or really similar) when renewing a subscription or when paying for a simple product.

There is a premium extension called All products for WooCommerce subscriptions, it is able to convert any product into a subscription recurring plan, let’s say I am selling food via online restaurant, one subscription could be 1 breakfast every day, for example. But I think this is not what you are looking for.

To help you to investigate, please share a copy of your site’s System Status Report, the one that is under WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?That will help to take a closer look regarding your inquiry.

    Hi Igor

Thank you for the quick reply.

Right – The checkout process for the simple product should be the same as for subscriptions.

The request is not important, as we decided to keep the order process as is for now, as I could not find a plugin which helps with the desired functionality described in the request. Given the size of the class in the subscription plugin mentioned in the request I assume that implementing it myself would take too long to make it worth the benefit. I was just curious if you might know of a plugin that accomplishes this functionality.

    Thank you, Mirco

    HI @gramir

I understand that this request is not of top priority at this moment and you are looking for a plugin that could achieve your requirement here.

Based on the scenario you provided, it seems that there is a different email being sent when a customer purchases a subscription product. I am not sure if this is the same as the default Customer invoice / Order details Email since the checkout process is different and somehow customized.

To better picture these emails, can you please share with us a clear screenshot of the Invoice Email for a Subscription Product and the Invoice Email for a Simple Product so that we could address you more effectively?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Hi @xue28

Thank you for the reply. I don’t think that the checkout process is customized. The default process by WooCommerce is a payment form on the customer’s account page, right? The process for Subscriptions seems to be different however and handled by the Subscriptions Plugin by WC and the file I mentioned in my initial request. I just wanted to handle the processes the same (as WC Subscription does it). I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks, Mirco

    Hi @gramir

Thank you for providing further details about your inquiry here.

I understand that you would like to have a similar checkout process for your simple products like that of the subscription product, correct?

To better picture what you are referring to here, can you please share with us a clear screenshot of these process so that we could address you more effectively?

    Hi @xue28

Thank you for the quick reply.

Here is the screenshot of the destination from the payment-link of a simple product (url: /chechout):

Here for a subscription (url: /checkout/order-pay/37/?pay_for_order=true&key=wc_order_lFcuNYjP4ozTi):

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

    Hi @gramir

Thanks for sharing the requested information above.

I believe that the second screenshot is the default checkout page of WooCommerce may it be a simple or subscription product. Here’s a screenshot of my checkout page for your reference:

I’d like to understand your site properly, please share your System Status Report that you can find via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Thanks!

    Hi @xue28

I’m not sure about the (simple product) screenshot. Did you create an order in the admin area and send the invoice to customer (with the payment link), or is this a frontend checkout? The question is about creating an order in the admin area (unpaid) and send the invoice (email with payment link) to the customer. This link should lead to the payment form (“Pay for order”) seen in my screenshot. I’m sorry if this hasn’t been made clear.

    Thank you.

The order made for the simple product was created in the front-end.

The question is about creating an order in the admin area (unpaid) and send the invoice (email with payment link) to the customer. This link should lead to the payment form (“Pay for order”) seen in my screenshot. I’m sorry if this hasn’t been made clear.

Thank you for providing clarity about the steps to be done here. I was able to replicate the scenario here for a manual order having a Pending Payment status which led to the Pay for Order page, correct?

Now, what I want to replicate here is your scenario below:

When I send an invoice to a customer for a subscription order, the customer receives an email with a payment link. When the customer clicks the link he gets redirected to the checkout process (ref: woocommerce-subscriptions\woocommerce-subscriptions\vendor\woocommerce\subscriptions-core\includes\class-wcs-cart-renewal.php)

Can you please share with us the step by step procedure you did for us to replicate the setup for the subscription product?

If a screenshot would be helpful, I’d recommend using https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Thanks!

    Hi @xue28

This is also just a backend order (in wp admin) of a subscription and sending the invoice with payment link to the customer.

    Thanks!

    Hi @gramir

    Sorry for the late reply.

I understand that you are using the premium plugin WooCommerce Subscriptions here.

If you have a valid license with us, can you please open a support request for us to investigate further about your issue? Please also include the link to this thread so that we’ll keep track of what’s been discussed so far.

Meanwhile, I will be marking this thread as resolved since your concern would be best handled by our Happiness Engineers there.

    Thanks!
