Email placeholder not substituted

    I have properly saved the “Customer New Account” email type and it shows “Welcome Barry” in the preview. However, when an email or sent preview email arrives, it says “Welcome {customer_first_name}”. I.e.the placeholder is not substituted.

    In case it’s relevant, the subtitle text is blank.
