Email sent for each LESSON in a course during last theme update

    Hi,

    I’ve just updated the theme, and in the process, it looks like an email was sent to every student in the course for EACH LESSON in their course. Like, a student in a course with ten lessons would have received 10 different emails.

    This is the “New course email”. It looks like it considered every lesson as a course and sent the notification. I’ve even received to many emails that the last ones fell into spam directly… This is the first time it happens.

    Not much you can do to help, the harm is done… Just wanted to let you know (maybe other had this issue as well?)

  • Hi, we have the same problem. After the update and course activation for a new participant, the email “Course added to User (for user)” was sent for each lesson, even though the variable course was entered. We have 86 Lessons. This is very inconvenient for us as the emails are now blocked as SPAM.

    Hi,

    Just curious, maybe any of you could confirm: I’ve asked some of my students about those emails, and it seems they didn’t receive any, which leads me to believe (hopefully) that only the admin/teachers received those. I didn’t have any email log plugin active at that time, so I cannot say for sure. Do you know if those emails were also received by students?

    We could detect that emails are sent to students as well.

    The same in our case!

    We delete the variable {{course_title}} out of the E-Mail settings in MS-LMS. That helps at the moment.

    Sorry, it is not working. We just deactivated the email function.

However, as nobody and nothing is flawless, they might sometimes overlook small bugs during the production phase. On behalf of our team, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.     As a short-term solution, I would kindly recommend turning off the Email manager addon, which is responsible for sending emails. Once it’s turned off, it won’t send any emails.

    800 emails sent to students. It’s created a lot of chaos in our business. :/
    Can you tell us when you expect a hotfix to be released?
    Can you at least release detailed instructions how to stop these emails in the meantime?
