    Hi there,

    I have the below settings and need your input on some questions at the end.

    WordPress setting:

    • WP admin email – removed

    On the actual contact form:

    • email headers
      Reply-To: {{email}}
      Cc: {{email}}
      Bcc: [email protected]
    • RECIPIENT EMAIL – removed – notice this is NOT .com and it’s a valid email.

    WP mail SMTP Plugin settings:

    • from email – removed
      from name – Web @ECITS
      other mailer:
      email-smtp.us-east-1.amazonaws.com
      SSL 465
      Auto TLS, Authentication – on
      SMTP Username: seriously removed
      SMTP Password: 3 day old compromised account and password removed

    Email sending works OK – when I test from the plugin, emails are sent OK but I need from the contact form to be sent out to the recipient email (removed) and it’s not doing this. All messages through the contact form are going to the WP admin email (removed). What is causing for this not to work so emails are sent out to the recipient email on the contact form instead of the admin email?

    Also – what is the {{email}} tag representing? Where can I see the other tags so I can use these for email headers?

    Thanks.

    Hi @cguanaja

    This is a public forum. Please edit your original post and alter/remove all of your credentials and email addresses.

    Afterward, please generate new credentials for your Amazon SES connection.

    As for the issue itself, since your test emails are sending without issue, it sounds like you’ll need to reach out to the contact form developer for questions related to their email tags and why the notifications are being sent to your admin email address and not the recipient.

    Off the top of my head, I can only imagine that you have multiple contact forms with different notification settings.

    Lastly, WP Mail SMTP only determines the From Email address, so we have no control over recipients outside of sending test emails via our dedicated section.

    I cannot edit the original post @dakeg – can you just remove email addresses from there please? All the SMTP info was already changed from the start.

    Thanks.
