So I ran our WordPress users through the Anti-Spam by CleanTalk scan, and a couple of our team’s email addresses were identified as spam. Now they’ve got a red X with SPAM by their name. Can we correct this error?

    Hello, @boogieboa

    Thank you for your request.

User checking feature checks emails and IPs of users via our database and shows the users with blacklisted IPs or emails.

You can check the IP or email of the found users here:
    https://cleantalk.org/blacklists

Make note, by adding the IPs or emails in your personal whitelists, these users won’t be blocked on your website.
    https://cleantalk.org/help/blacklist-usage

    Did it help?

    Best regards.

The users concerned have NordVPn installed, so I guess that might account for the blacklisted IP addresses. Is there any way around this?

A good visitor and a spammer can gain the same IP address from a VPN service at different times. Unfortunately, there is no way to find a difference between visitors when they use VPN.

You can try to delete IPs or emails from our database.

    The guide is here:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/deletion-from-public-page

Also, could you, please provide us with a few examples of the IP/emails that were found as spam. If you don’t want post it here, you may create a private ticket in our support system:
    https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open

We in turn will analyze them and discuss with the team the possibility of adding a function that allows you to remove the spam status of found users.

We’ll inform you of our decision in 1-2 working days.

    Thank you.

The ability to remove obvious and known false positives is a great idea. I’m surprised it has not been suggested before. I’m looking forward to hearing of your decision.

    Cheers
