This isn’t a support question as such, but more of a complaint.

I woke up this morning to find my inbox full with “SEO Performance Report” emails from each AISEO plugin across all of the 20+ sites I’ve installed it on.

I’m sure such a report might be helpful to a lot of people, but this new “feature” should not have been auto-activated on existing sites. It’s not something that I want, and if I was installing AISEO on a new site I would have unticked it.

Also, it’s not just a “report” as it contains a section with links to a blog on the AISEO website. So that makes the emails spam!

Now I have to log in to every single site and deactivate it. This is a right royal pain in the a*se!

Yes it happened to me today and I’m using Pro.

They have caused this issue on previous plugin updates multiple times in the past.

I am now moving all my managed websites (200+) to another SEO plugin, AIOSEO is not like it used to be. Ever since they added the new UI and TruSEO Score nearly four years ago the plugin has gone downhill and has become problematic.

Same thing happened to me. “Email reports” is a new feature introduced in v4.7.2, released on 25 Sep 2024. It seems quite silly that monthly reports would default to “on”. This should be an opt-in feature, not opt-out.

Same here, and i think nobody needed it.
Another spam email whitout any consent! BS!

Agreed; another frustrated user here that received multiple email reports without consent. What is even more frustrating is there is no easy way to turn them all off… I need to log into each website where this is installed and turn it off. Very disappointed in this behavior, AISEO.

This is ridiculous and shameful, and should be reverted immediately. No notice of this being a new feature, and having it enabled by default is pure spam.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused, especially given the number of sites you manage.

The release of our SEO Email Reports feature is intended to provide helpful insights, but I understand that enabling it by default has been an unexpected burden, particularly if you manage many sites. Your feedback is invaluable, and I truly regret any disruption this has caused.

As you may already know, you can disable this feature by logging into each site individually by navigating to AIOSEO > General Settings > Advanced tab, as shown here: https://a.supportally.com/i/QXiina.

I want to reassure you that our team is aware of this issue and is reviewing it internally. We’re working on improvements to offer better control and flexibility over new features.

For further information, please check out this older thread from our Developer: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/request-to-disable-default-sending-of-performance-reports/#post-18051777.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!
