Email spam from AISEO!

    This isn’t a support question as such, but more of a complaint.

    I woke up this morning to find my inbox full with “SEO Performance Report” emails from each AISEO plugin across all of the 20+ sites I’ve installed it on.

    I’m sure such a report might be helpful to a lot of people, but this new “feature” should not have been auto-activated on existing sites. It’s not something that I want, and if I was installing AISEO on a new site I would have unticked it.

    Also, it’s not just a “report” as it contains a section with links to a blog on the AISEO website. So that makes the emails spam!

    Now I have to log in to every single site and deactivate it. This is a right royal pain in the a*se!

  • @petervandoorn couldn’t agree more and no annoying popups in dashboard asking to signup.

    Hey everyone,

    First of all, thank you all for pitching in. Please know that we take all of your feedback seriously and highly appreciate you sharing your opinion with us.

    After internal discussion, we have decided to disable SEO Email Reports in our next update for all users, and it will be disabled by default for new users going forward. This should fully eliminate the friction that this feature has been causing.

    We will also issue a notification inside the plugin’s Notification Center so that users are made aware they need to reenable the setting manually if they’d like to continue receiving e-mail reports.

    This change will take effect in our next update, AIOSEO 4.7.7, which is scheduled for release next week.
