I upgraded both WordPress and Contact Form 7. All of a sudden messages submitted through the contact form are not being sent even though it says – “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”

I disabled all of the plugins to see if any were causing the issue. I enabled only Contact Form 7 but it did not resolve the problem.

We are probably missing important emails.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

  • The plugin is working for me on many different websites and several different servers. Any issue you have is almost certainly due to something on your local WP install.

You will probably be mistaken if you focus on this happening since the last update – it’s most likely just a coincidence.

The green success message is also a very clear indication that CF7 is sending the email.

So your email is probably being seen as spam somewhere in the email process. This is usually due to email headers (in particular the From email address used) or email content.

Important to remember there are a lot of places, other than your spam folder, where emails can be trapped as spam.??

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues – this links to a much more comprehensive article which also covers emails being considered spam.

See also Contact Form 7 not Sending Emails which explains in more detail the main reasons for failed Contact Form 7 email deliveries and offers some possible solutions.?

    Thanks buzztone!

I tried this solution and it is still not working. I saw somewhere in another post that godaddy.com’s email server has been blacklisted, secureserver.net. I guess I have to call godaddy.com now.

    Thanks again.

Just got off the phone with GoDaddy.com support. There is a setting within CPanel for the SMTP server. It defaults to local. When using Contact Form 7, I need it to be set to remote. I don’t think it’s a setting I can access, they made the change for me.

    Thank again for your help!
