Everything is working fine with the email translation, aside the subject and header title translation to the second language.
This is only happening when the email is automatically generated from the checkout process. If i use order manual email action, everything is translated as it should be (subject and header title included).
May you assist me with any help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Have you translated the header and subject strings in Polylang Strings Translations table?

    I did.

As i explained, everything is working fine if i use the manual email action from the orders-order panel, in both of the setup languages.

The problem seems to be only when the order confirmation email is automatically sent from the checkout process. And it is happening only with the subject and header title strings, not with the rest of the email contents.

    I’ve found this:

When the order confirmation email is automatically sent (at the end of the purchase process) the contents used for the subject and header title come from the default woocommerce content fields (woocommerce -> settings -> Emails) and not from the polylang custom strings. For this particular email it should get the content from “woocommerce_customer_processing_order_subject” and “woocommerce_customer_processing_order_heading” strings.

So, something is blocking the contents from beeing fetched from the polylang strings table.

Another thing i’ve found: there are no registered strings for the “canceled order” email subject/header title. This is not the main problem, but maybe you could consider it for a next release. Thanks.

Sorry about the heavy sequence of messages… i am trying to gather as much information as i can about the problem.

At the end of the buying process, an email confirming the order is sent to the customer. That specific email, when i am at the second language version of the store, as the subject and header title in the main language, and the rest of the contents correctly translated to the second. The subject and header title strings come from the default woocommerce email template fields (under wc settings) which are replicated inside the woocommerce pot language files.

So, on this specific email action, no polylang string fields are fetched.

At the same time, an email is automatically sent to the shop administrator, informing a new customer order as arrived. On this specific email, the subject and header title contents are correctly translated. Here, again, the contents come from the default woocommerce email template fields (under wc settings), not from the polylang fields.

On the other hand, if i manually send emails from an active order (from the orders table in admin) the subject and header contents are correctly translated from the polylang strings.

Regarding the ‘Cancelled Order’, the email strings only show up in the Polylang Strings Translation table if you change and/or save the email settings in the WooCommerce admin page. If you simple press the ‘Save changes’ button in the Canceled Order email settings page, they will be created in the Polylang table.

If the user doesn’t change/save any settings, the plugin default behavior is to use the strings in the WooCommerce language files.

Regarding your other issue, the subject and header strings not being translated, please check if there is some plugin or your theme overriding the email template. You can check this in WooCommerce admin settings under System Status (buttom of the page in the Templates sections).

Try also to disable all plugins expect WC, Poly and Hyyan plugins and check if the emails are sent properly. If yes, activate 1 by 1 to track the culprit plugin (I suspect a plugin may be using the same filter I used and overwriting the strings).

    Thanks for your answers.

Regarding the “Cancelled Order”, did as you told me, but still can not see any strings for the specific email content fields, in the Polylang table.

I will do as you told me regarding the turning off every other plugin except WC, Poly and Hyyan and will get back to you. Did a quick test (turning off every plugin not important for the site setup, but have to check turning every single one of them later in the day) with no success.

Your are right regarding the Cancelled Order. I just checked the code and the translation for this email type is not implemented. I have not implemented because this email is typically intended for the shop managers etc. Therefore is sent in the default admin language.

Sorry for mislead you. What I wrote is nonetheless valid for the other emails except admin emails.

Finally found the problem, after reading your post.
Got into the Emails.php inside your plugin to understand how the strings are implemented are found that there is no “on_hold_order” registration either. Which is exactly the problematic email i’ve told in the first place.
Therefore, i’ve implemented myself this specific strings (for the ‘cancelled order’ and the ‘on hold order’ emails) and everything is working fine.
It would be great if you consider the implementation of these strings on a next release!.
    Thanks again!

Thanks for helping identifying the gap. I will work on the implementation for the emails Cancelled Order, Failed Order, Order On-hold and Order Notification for the next release. release date of the new release is however subject to @hyyan availability and timelines.

For some reason I cant get the emails translated, they are always in English! help??

Thanks! Looking forward for the next release.
I will try to add both order failed and order notification email translations by myself in the meanwhile.

    @tiagorestivo – I don’t you make a Push Request for that in github https://github.com/hyyan/woo-poly-integration/ ?

@rmgl – lets start with gathering some info:
    – what languages have you configured in Polylang and what are the Default?
    – Have you translated the strings in the Polylang strings translations table?
    – have you check if you have the WooCommerce language files for your all languages?

    Hello,

I am having a problem, I am using Polylang (french and english) and woo commerce. When I send a confirmation email selecting the language, every email is sent in the correct language (title, header and main text) except for one: customer-completed-order.php when in french.

It sends the email with the title, the header in french, but the first sentence is in english. The rest of the order details are in french. I can’t seam to figure it out!

    Please help!

    Hi

    I also have the problem,
I used LocoTranslate to do the translations.
    I have
    – woocommerce 3.0.5
    – three languages (French, English, German)
    – default language is French
    – the titles and the subject of mail are in English
    – there are translations po / mo (woocommerce 100% translated in the 3 languages)
    – uses woo-poly-integration with the flatsome theme

    Please help!
