email subject misleading
-
Hi.
Resurecting this past thread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/failure-not-obvious-from-email-notification/
I was relying on the email subject line to assess the success or failure of a backup. Bad idea! Correct me if I am wrong but email subject is always in this form:
Backed up?: SiteName (UpdraftPlus 1.24.11) 2024-12-02 09:41
The first 3 lines of the mail look like:
Backup of: https://….
UpdraftPlus WordPress backup is complete.
Backup contains: Files and database (Full backup)
The 4th line gives the actual backup status which could be one of the following:
- The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully
- Latest status: The backup succeeded and is now complete
- Latest status: The backup succeeded (with warnings) and is now complete
I was relying on the subject line which in effect is misleading. In my case the backup istelf was OK but the upload to a FTP server was failing (wrong folder).
It’d be greatly appreciated if the email subject gives the actual end status of a backup job.
Can you do that please?
