I’m trying to create a custom email template to send to customers. No matter what I try, the email template will not save. I press the “Save Changes” button on the bottom, but then when I come back to edit the template, all the HTML is gone. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin, no luck there either.

  • I have this problem as well. I’m not able to edit the existing initial template or create a new one. My wordpress and woocommerce are fully up to date as I write this.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

Can you please let me know you have added Emoji in the Email Body section and in the Subject?

It would be great if you can share with us HTML code which you are trying to add in the email template and share the screenshot of edit email template page. So I can try to replicate the issue.

    Please let me know.

There is no Emoji. There is 1 image, and the rest is regular text.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but I just went to the template to send you a screenshot, and all my HTML is there now.

Does this plugin take time to actually save info? When I press “Updated Changes” button, there is a notice that says the email template was successfully updated, but the changes do not show in the template. However, after a day, the changes are now there.

It appears there is a serious delay to “save changes”. That’s the root of the issue.

Now I’m trying to unclick the box that says “Use WooCommerce Template Style”. I unclick the box, press “Update Changes”, there is a message that says “updated successfully”, but the box goes back to checked again. I think there’s a bug somewhere.

    Hi,

Thank you for explaining the issue.

I have tried to replicate the issue on our staging site, but I am unable to reproduce it.

On my staging site, WordPress version 4.9.1 and WooCommerce version 3.2.5 are activated. I have activated Abandoned Cart Lite plugin and tried to add/edit the email template and all the changes are saved successfully.

I have added the image and HTML code in the Email Body section and I am able to add the Email Template. Then I have clicked on “Edit” link for the same email template and all the changes are saved.

I have tried with our default email template and new email template, but I am not able to replicate it.

    Please see the video: https://www.screencast.com/t/EEesKzAwakIj

It would be great if you can provide us HTML code of Email Body section & the video of the issue which is occurring on your site.

Also, let me know the theme which you are using on your site.

If you do not comfortable to share the video then you can send me on my “[email protected]” email address.

Thanks for helping Chetna. I removed the emoji’s from my email and now it is working great.

    Hi @ucanmatt,

Thank you for your response. I am glad to know that you are able to save the email template.

If you want to add emoji in the email template then you can add symbol code or we can say HTML Entity (hex) in the Email Body section under the Add / Edit Email Template page.

    Please see the screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/kahGdvXkAjFh

Let me know if you have any question regarding our plugin.

    BTW here is your error….

    frequency = 1, day_or_hour = ‘Hours’, template_name = ‘Initial’, is_wc_template = ‘1’, default_template = 1, wc_email_header = ‘Abandoned cart reminder’
    WHERE id = 1

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing error message with us.

It looks like that “wc_email_header” column has not been created in the database. So, you cannot add the email template on your site.

Can you please let me know our plugin is activated on WordPress multisite?

I would need to check the issue and apply the fix on your site. Can you please post your query on our plugin’s forum page?
