Email text is too small on Android HTC Desire Eye

Is there a way to control how the email text displays on my Android HTC Desire Eye, as it’s quite small and difficult to read.
See srceenshot here https://goo.gl/2GW6ND which may look readable in your browser as it’s a screenshot, but compare the size of the body text to the subject line text (which reads great) to get an idea of the issue at hand.
I’m reading all my emails via Gmail in Chrome and don’t have this issue with any other emails, just Mailpoet (which I love by the way and seriously considering upgrading), but if I’m having this issue, then my subscribers will have too.
When I press the view in browser option as an alternative, the text is then a good size, but the page is not optimized, causing me to have to scroll left and right, back and forth to read, which these days is no longer acceptable.
Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.
