Email to specific user when their photo receives approved comment

you know, and email message sent to the email of the person whose name matches their photo that says “your photo received a new approved comment”.

Would it not be much simpler, if I make it so that as soon as the photoname matches a user displayname, the owner of the photo is set to the login name of the same user? In this case you can use the editablilty and emailing the same as is now for owners.

but you should know, i havent been receiving emails when peopel leave comments. it suddenly stopped over the pat few days.

if they are made owner,i still wouldnt want that person to edit anythign else on the photo other then what i want them to- mainly just the custom field that i select.

also, how do i set it so that owner gets an auto email when a comment is approved by me for them? and how can i alter what that email says?

right now i use a plugin that forces to show the user display name as the first and last name. (in case that matters to you)

just in case you need to know this- i am using a plugin called “Force First and Last Name as Display Name” by stranger studios.

i see in settings that i can set it on IV F5 to send email to admin AND owner… does this mean they can also approve the comment?

what if i only want owner to receive a notofication of a comment AFTER me, as admin has approved it?

– Do you get no mails at all? There was a change on apr 15 ver 6.4.08 to accomodate for certain mail systems. It uses wp_mail now and should always work.

– When i automaticly change owner to photoname=dsplayname-user, you simply need to set Table VII-D2.2 to ‘uploader’ (=owner).
Only, currently, If the owner can fe edit, he can also fe delete, i will add a switch to protect against this.

– IF the new feature is ON, the owner can automaticly be changed as soon as the photo is viewed for the first time after the photoname has been changed. This causes little overhead and no need for you to change existing photos, just run the slidesow once over all you have so far.

1. i get no emails, users who change their password get an email. what do i need to do to get emails?

yes, i understand that- that is selected… the issue is, i am not receiving notification emails from the comment system anymore. since you changed something recently, as you said. what do i need to do to fix that?
