Hi, i’m using the latest version of the plugin (4.0.55), but i also had this issue on the previous version.

I changed the email address to which the form sends emails to, but no matter what i do it keeps saying it’s misconfigured.
    email used is: [email protected]?
also tried Jordan,[email protected]?, same issue
It seemed fine before i changed it, when it was using the default admin email.

It also shows an error message on the frontend of the site https://cityboss.vhwptest.com/roofing-company-calgary-contact/
Not exactly confidence inspiring for clients.

Clicking the little Help link next to the field doesn’t give any useful information and some of it is even there twice:

If you add multiple email addresses, a drop down list will be created on the contact form. Each contact can have a name and an email address separated by a comma. Separate each contact by pressing enter. If you need to add more than one contact, follow this example:
Email address the messages are sent to (your email). For basic operation, just enter an email address. If you add multiple email addresses, a drop down list will be created on the contact form. Each contact can have a name and an email address separated by a comma. Separate each contact by pressing enter. If you need to add more than one contact, follow this example:
If you need to use a comma in the name, escape it with a back slash, like this: \,
    Webmaster,[email protected]
    Sales,[email protected]

Am i the only one having these issues ?

I used FSCF before, never had this problem.

P.S. is there any (easy) way to display the form more horizontally ?
most form plugins seem to be made to be used in sidebars and most of the time they are not.

  • Hi, can you try the following troubleshooting documentation. If that does not work can you disable and delete this plugin and install a fresh copy.

Let me know how you go.

    Regards

Domain cityboss.ca? is not valid in many DNS lookup tools. Make sure your domain is configured correctly for DNS

“troubleshooting documentation” you mean disable the DNS checking ?
if i delete the plugin that means i’m gonna have to recreate the 2 forms i made ? i’d rather not, i guess i’ll just sweep the dead body under the rug and ignore the smell.

I just checked cityboss.ca https://intodns.com/cityboss.ca, seems fine ?, i’m really not an expert on it, but i don’t see anything stopping the email from working, which by the way is working.

What dns lookup tools did you use Mike ? i’d like to send the hosting company the links.

PS. the site is hosted at D9 but the emails are hosted on Godaddy (which also provides the domain) is that causing the problem ?

@joegp, for Godaddy try the following documentation.

Let me know how you go.

Step 1. You MUST have a GoDaddy email address on the SAME DOMAIN as your web site that your form is on.

i see, well this is a mock-up/test site, so the problem might go away once we clone it back to cityboss.ca

Don’t know when that will happen, but i will update you.

    Thanks.

Thank you for the heads up.

OK, the error message disappeared after i cloned the site over, but not right away.
So it seems it was an issue caused by godaddy after all.

PS. the double help text i mentioned in the first post is still there, i know almost nobody reads those but still, it should get fixed.

Thank you for reporting the double text in the help link. I have checked and verified that there are double text added. The plugin developer will fix this in a future release.

    Kind regards
