• Hiya, nice plugin.

A few questions from a first time user

Is it possible to email users their quiz results and a link to view again online?

Is there a link we can use where if a logged in user clicks they see their quiz history?

Is any kind of pagination possible? Specifically I’d like to divide questions into sections, where not all sections have the same # questions. So you have a section on maths and click “next section” or something and go to the questions for the next lot. Being able to do that by question pot would seem a good fit.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

Unfortunately at the moment the answer is no to all of these.
However, they are all great suggestions and we will try to work the, into the next release.

I especially like the option to see previous results of the current user. Could you go into some more detail about this the emailing users but would work.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex

I guess an easy way to do this since you are already able to nicely render results would be to save the result set and then email a link to that to the user when they finish the quiz. The email would probably be plain text and (preferably) customisable in the quiz settings something. Ie

“Thank you for completing the <Quiz Name> quiz.

    You scored <correct points> out of <total points> for a score of <score>%.

To view the results of your quiz please follow the below link:
    <link>

To view all past quiz attempts please follow the below link:
    <link>”

You could save multiple result sets per user and have the them available on the site, i.e. a list of links to the result set that could display something like:
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>
    ….
    <Quiz Name> <Date> <Score>

That list could be rendered by a short code.

How often do you plan to release new versions?

    Cheers

On the pagination side of things, we’ve created a 110 question engineering quiz, there are roughly a dozen sections.

It would be great if we could divide up the questions somehow since 110 is a lot to display on the screen at any one time. Your plugin has these question pots, which seem like they would work. So would it be possible to add the following options?
    [Group questions by question pot]
[Include question pot name as section header]
[Display each question pot on separate page]

Also, since it’s a longer quiz it would be awesome if the user could save their progress and come back to it later. Although I guess that would be harder to do?

    cheers

    Hi nick,

If things are a simple fix or easy feature then we do a release as soon as it’s ready. We could do one for the user previous results for example as that’s quite an easy job.

The pagination issue would mean re writing the way the quiz works from the ground up, but it’s something that’s been on my agenda for awhile. No promises but I’ll try to get this done for the next academic year I.e. October 2015.

If you’re happy to I test stuff from your side it would speed up things.
I’ll make a start on this when I get back from holiday around mid August.

Cool! More than happy to test things out or even mock items up if it’s helpful and I understand some stuff takes longer than others for sure.

    Hi Nick,

I’ve got the shortcode working nicely that displays all quiz results to a student of a single quiz. However, the example you give above though shows a ‘quiz name’ column which suggests you’d also want to show ALL results from ALL quizzes to a student as well. Is that what you intended?

I assumed the best thing would be to give the reuslts table on some context e.g.
On the Maths quiz you have the following attempt scores:
    <TABLE>
therefore you wouldn’t need a quiz title column, just the score and date.

Regarding the date I’m currently showing the date/time they FINISHED the quiz, rather than the time they started. Would you prefer the date they started?

    Hi Alex

Sorry for the late reply, I was away on holiday.

    Both your suggestions are good.

    How does the shortcode work?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I think the new results table may already be in the latest release. Check the shortcode list in the help pages. If not it will be in the next one which should be released next week. I need some testers for the latest question type which is fill in the blanks. Are you willing to do so?

    Hi Alex

Sure I don’t mind. I probably won’t use it in a quiz (it’s all multi-choice at this stage) but if you let me know I’ll give it a whirl. I just sent you an email so please shoot through what you’d like looked at.
