My question was that I’m using Postmatic to send new posts to subscribers and naturally the Popup links don’t work in the emails. I was curious if I could edit the popup URL, or even if that would make sense. I realize the popups won’t open in the emails, the reader would be taken to a web page. It’s not a big issue for me right now, I don’t have many subscribers, but I was just curious. https://theherbanfarmer.com/

When you say popup links do you mean like a site.com/popup/popup-123 link? Popups themselves are not meant to be public with a forward facing url. That said our advanced targeting conditions extension allows you to trigger popups when say the url contains ?special=123 only.

To see this in action go to our site https://wppopupmaker.com. You will get nothing on first load.

Now go to https://wppopupmaker.com?ref=6 ( the url we redirect to from the previous version of Popup Maker called easy-modal.com ) and you will get a welcome notice that tells about the branding change etc.

Try the second link here again. I mistyped it before with a / instead of a ?

    Yes, the link works now.

I suppose that would work in an email link but Postmatic copies the post content for me, so that would have to be the link in the post as well. Would that make the popups show as soon as the page loads? Or –would that just be a setting?

Please don’t worry about it, it’s not a big issue and it was just a thought from someone who knows nothing about coding.

Thank you so much for your help! ??

@debbiet – There is no way to make them open in email as we can’t load javascript in the emails.

But you could set a popup to open on a specific post using the targeting conditions that are in the free version and targeting specific posts.

Okay, thanks Daniel. I did have the setting originally for specific posts and found that when my post was on my home page the popups didn’t work — I’d have to click on the post title to be taken to the post page itself for them to work. So I’ll let well enough alone. I’m happy with the plugin as is.

I see you’re in Florida. Enjoy your weather, it just started snowing here and I’m freezing. ??

@debbiet – You can use the on home page option if you want it there.

OMG, I had no idea I could select both the home page AND the specific post. Awesome, you just taught an old dog a new trick. Thanks!

@debbiet – You can target dozens/hundreds of pages, or just one. You can check entire site and then exclude specific pages or whole subsets of pages easily.

That’s incredible! I just made a third popup to show my shipping rates. So much more practical than making a whole page for that. It’s an amazing plugin!

@debbiet there are literally hundreds maybe even thousands of uses once you get past the “Popup” stigma.

I have plans to start showcasing these types of things in the future on our site just to show what it cant do.
