• Hi. I just starting using woocommerce for my products on my website. I have had about 6 orders come through and these people aren’t getting their email confirmation that they ordered. When I look at the backend all of their orders say processing. Am I supposed to go in there and mark as completed for them to get the email? And if so- is there a way to automate this? Thanks.

Hello @rlmatznick welcome to the world famous forum.

In the backend of Woo you want to go to Settings > Emails > then scroll down and make sure that the emails you want going out are turned on. Usually by default that email is on. It’s called Processing Order

Here are some screenshots to ensure you’re enabled these. All that are on are Blue. Any greyed out are disabled.

Here is the box that needs to be checked for Processing Order.

Same applies to all of them. When you’re done fulfilling the order then and go to tell the customer it’s been fulfilled you’ll change the status inside the order details section to Completed and then the completed order email will automatically go out.

Note, that if you are using an email that is the same as your domain, some host will consider this spam and then you will need an SMTP relay to send emails. That could be a whole other issue. That will apply to not only Woo emails but forms on the site as well.

    Hope this helps!

Ypu can install something like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-logging/ to see what emails are being sent out. If this shows them as being sent, then the issue could be with the receiving servers thinking they are spam and putting them in the spam/junk folder.

The Processing status is the default WooCommerce status for new orders that have been paid – it means that you, as the store owner, are processing the order (ie: picking, packing and sending). You would have to manually select Complete when you have sent the order out.
