    My profile email (admin) and the WordPress general settings email are the same. However, notifications are still going to an old email address even though the said emails are “addressed” to the correct email?! How do I fix this!?

    Have you checked that you’re not forwarding mail from one address to the other via your hosting account’s control panel? What email address did you use on Your Profile?

    I’ve disabled email on my hosting and use gmail. The email address I use is [email protected].

    It’s weird because they come to my me.com account addressed to the above email.

    Ooops! Sorry, I thought it was marked as “resolved”!

    Try making the primary admin’s email address same as the site owner’s email address.

    If you mean, my profile, and then the ‘Settings’, ‘General’, then they are the same.

    What has my hosting provider got to do with WordPress?

    Surely if I set up wordpress to use a specific email it should do as I say? Shouldn’t it? Lol!

    I’m using a VPS, and they think I should know what I am doing and won’t support my lack of knowledge!

    I’ve changed my email address with the hosting company to see if this makes a difference.

    Can’t see it will, but any suggestion is welcome!

    Ok, I’ve fixed it, or should I say, found a work-around. I’ve installed WP Mail SMTP and send emails from wordpress via Google Apps!

    Shame I couldn’t actually work out what the problem was in the first place!
