I looked at this thread
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/emails-not-sending-32?replies=16I used to use WP-mail-smtp but I don’t any more- it is disabled.
I have templates in the email area of JS. One of them has send customer invoice and order pending to on-hold.I do not want to reinstall JS because of the shipping information that takes a while to add and all the settings changes I’d have to remember.
Update: there must have been a change in the way Jigoshop processes orders; after adding order pending to waiting for payment for customer, the customer emails now send successfully. However, the admin emails still do not appear to be coming for new orders. I have Order pending to on hold, order pending to waiting for payment and order completed for admin selected for the admin template.
Any thoughts?

How will you send emails reliably without configuring any SMTP server??
I don’t know- but it has seemed to be reliable so far. Not sure if Bluehost has some backend functionality but I doubt it? I did see that people recommend a service like Mandrill. Do you recommend that?
One thing I do notice is that it’s still sending emails from an email address and I don’t have a clue how it’s able to do that, because I’ve changed the admin email and all the jigoshop emails and it’s still sending from the same old address… Maybe WP-mail-smtp is still working even though disabled? Not sure which email Jigoshop uses as the sending email but I thought it was the main WordPress admin one.
The admin says they have been getting all the emails, so it is working. Now I just don’t know what is setting the Jigoshop admin email address…

I’m not sure you can trust your user on this. How would the admin know if they had missed an email? Best to install an Email Log, in my opinion.

Sounds like you have still have an SMTP plugin running, maybe there’s another one installed. The default email, btw, would be [email protected].

I’ve heard Mandrill is very good, but I wouldn’t know. I use Google Apps, myself.
Ah, it’s been so long since I set it up that I forgot. I have MX routing configured on the server. So looks like this is resolved now, thanks.
I just did some research on your domain.
publicacionespescadores.com. 14399 IN MX 1 aspmx.l.google.com.
You’re a Google Apps user!! Well, you’re gonna love this plugin because it will help you avoid this Google security issue: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/postman-smtp/
So looks like this is resolved now, thanks.
No, I don’t think it is, wanna know why?
publicacionespescadores.com. 14399 IN TXT "v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:69.195.124.119 ?all"
Your SPF is wrong! Your problem is likely still there, you just haven’t hit the right combination of email addresses to trigger it. Fix your SPF as per Google Apps’ support page.
Thanks for checking into this. Bluehost does those settings automatically, and I’m not sure I want to change them. In my case, I think item #4 from your link applies and my host has special settings they use… not sure though.
Thanks for the note about your plugin. Looks useful.
Bluehost does those settings automatically
Yes, for the wrong smtp server. If you are going to have an SPF record pointed to Bluehost, you can’t have an MX record point at Google. You at least have to merge them together.
I think item #4 from your link applies and my host has special settings they use
Item number 4 talks about the host parameter. Bluehost’s ‘special settings’ for the host parameter is ….. wait for it …… ‘@’ . Just like everybody else. [screenshot] [instructions]
I’m not sure I want to change them
Fair enough ?? Good luck to you.
So you’re saying mine should be
@v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all
instead of the Bluehost IP?Are you saying some email providers could see the mismatch and dump the email?
