Emails not going to authors, box ticked

Thanks for your message.

If WordPress and the notification supports it, you should be able to change the From name and From email address for each notification. If you can’t, you can use a filter to do this but this comes with a caveat. If you’re finding that emails are being delivered, it may be worth installing a plugin that has an email log, such as the Post SMTP plugin. Emails are being delivered, as I said, that’s not the problem. But you’re totally missing the issue I’m asking about, you’re answering my other post, but they are two different issues. This post is about the?“Send to Author” tick box, which is not working. Notifications are not going to the author.

You’re quite right. As with your other message, I’m not sure what happened but I completely confused a few support messages that I was dealing with.

Are you able to post a link to a screenshot of your entire notification when editing it so I can see how you have the notification set-up?

When you tested the post, is the author in the Administrator role or one of the users listed in the ‘Except For’ field for the notification?

No, the author is neither admin nor in the exception list.

Can a caching plugin cause a problem with it? I’m using W3 Total Cache.

It could be a caching plugin, or another plugin causing a conflict.

You could make your way through this document to see if any of the steps help.

It seems to be working again, not sure why. Perhaps another plugin’s update fixed a conflict. Hopefully it’ll be fine now. Thanks for your help!
