I successfully used Email Users yesterday to notify users of a blog post. I have not made any changes to my wordpress site or to the plugin, yet today, emails are not sending. I’ve tried sending from a blog post, from a page, and just sending an email to selected individuals. I’ve tried sending a couple of test messages – not going through.

I did clear my browser history, logged off my wordpress site, logged back on, deactivated then reactivated the plugin, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

    Thank you!

There are a couple things to check:

    1. Check your spam folder to see if you are receiving email but it is being tagged as spam.
    2. Check with your hosting provider to see if there are any limits or restrictions on outbound email. I’ve seen a number of hosts which limit the number of outbound emails sent per hour or per day.
    3. Put email users in debug mode and take a look at the mail headers and see if they look correct. Debug mode is on the plugin settings page. When in debug mode, the mail is never actually sent so you can play with it quite a bit but you can see what the mail headers will look like to verify the addresses you expect to see as recipients are indeed there.

Something had to change if it worked one day but not the next. ??

You can close this – turns out our hosting company blocked us for spam – not sure why since we are a member organization, no email lists, but now I know to check that in the future first!
