Emails Only in Plain Text

I’ve been trying for several hours now to style the emails that come out of the “Email” section of the plugin to no avail. It doesn’t seem to matter if I choose “Plain Text” or “HTML” they come out in plain text without any formatting what-so-ever. How do I fix this?
