• Hello!

I have set up all my email templates and can see them working properly when I preview from the editor. I also see them working properly when I send test emails from the editor.

I just tried out a first test order, and both my email and the customer-facing email sent with the default WooCommerce email templates instead.

I am also using the following plugins which may be affecting it — not sure if you know of any incompatibility with one of these plugins?:
    – MailChimp for WooCommerce
    – Yoast SEO for WooCommerce
    – Google Analytics for WooCommerce
    – WooCommerce USPS Shipping

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hey Hannah,

I am actually still seeing the issue —?womp womp.

The issue seems to only be on new orders (admin side) and order confirmation (customer side) as far as I can tell right now. It seems like the emails that go out after the initial order —?“Order complete” or “Customer note” —?anything come from an action I take within WordPress — are working and accepting the proper style.

Could this be an issue with my PayPal integration for WP?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey,
    Help me understand.

If you go to woocommerce > email customizer does everything look like it should and editing works?

If you send a test email does it work?

And if a real order is placed it doesn’t work?

Can you send a screenshot of how the email appears when it’s not working?

    Hi Ben,

In WooCommerce > email customizer, everything looks correct, yes.

If I send a test email, it works and looks correct.

If a real order is placed, the “new order” email to the admin (me), and the “order confirmation” do not look correct. They are using the out-of-the-box WooCommerce layout.

Here is a test order: https://wp.me/a6R3qF-H1 (Sent to myself from the customizer)
Here is a shot from in the customizer: https://wp.me/a6R3qF-H3

Here is a real order, Admin view: https://wp.me/a6R3qF-H2
    Real order, customer view: https://wp.me/a6R3qF-H0
    Thank you!

    Hey,
That is interesting. It’s showing me that the templates are applying because the text is changed via our templates but the css is not. It’s like it’s missing all the styles.

Can you tell me what plugins you are using?

    What version of PHP.

What your php settings are for max memory and max execution time.

And if there is anything in your php error logs?

    Hi Ben,

Thank you SO MUCH for looking in to this. It’s very weird indeed!

I am using a lot of plugins, I’ll list them all at the bottom of this comment.

I am on WordPress 5.2, Using the Salient theme. PHP Version 7.0.33

I am not sure how to answer the max memory & execution time. Is that something I find in my domain settings for you?

I tried finding my error log, but I’m not sure it is configured for my site. The error log in my root folder is only showing some errors for image files from back in October. I’m sorry I couldn’t provide that — let me know if I can try to set it up somehow? I found this Error Log Monitor plugin that maybe I could install and wait until I send out a new order to test? https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/error-log-monitor/

Sidenote: I have a sneaking suspicion it ~may~ be the Salient theme messing things up, as it seems to want to install it’s own version of WooCommerce… But no idea how I would resolve that. I can try reaching out to their team but my support for the theme is no longer active.

    PlugIns:
    – Akismet Anti-Spam
    – Classic Editor
    – Contact Form 7
    – Custom FB Feed
    – Enhanced Media Libraru
    – GDPR Cookie Consent
    – Jetpack by WP
    – Kadence (of course)
    – Salient WPBakery Builder (required for my theme)
    – UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore
    – WooCommerce
    – WooCommerce StampscomEndicia Integration
    – WooCommerce Blocks
    – WooCommerce Google Analytics
    – WooCommerce USPS Shipping
    – Yoast SEO
    – Yoast SEO: WooCommerce

    Thank you again so much.

    Hey,
The best thing here is if you can test with a different theme, and test by deactivating WooCommerce StampscomEndicia Integration and WooCommerce USPS Shipping

Those are the ones likely to edit the emails.

But some things you can look up. Contact your hosting provider for the error log. They can help you access it. If you go to woocommerce > status you can see the php settings I was referencing.

If there are no errors in the error log then narrowing it down to whats creating the conflict would be ideal. I’ve not heard of a theme wanting to install their own version of woocommerce but that certainly sounds like a recipe for conflict issues.

    Hey Ben,

I found some of the items you were looking for:

PHP post max size: 64 MB
    PHP time limit: 30
    PHP max input vars: 1000

I’m going to be tied up this weekend, but I will try testing some things out next week and see what I can find with disabling some themes/plugins temporarily. Thanks again for your help !

    We have the same problem.

Hey @tester2018 thanks for joining in, can you tell us what plugins you are using, finding matching might help narrow down.

    Hey @tester2018 thanks

Just want to clarify, you only see an issue when a real order is sent? Correct? If you send one manually the emails are styled correctly?

Are you sending to the same email inbox?

    Ben

Yes, I only see an issue when a real order is sent. If I send a manual test email, it is styled correctly. All scheduled abandoned cart emails sent to our customers have correct styles.
