embed author contact form to users posts

  • Having spent 8 straight hours looking yesterday to no avail, can someone tell me how to allow multiple users to contact any author of any number of posts without revealing the authors email.

    There seems to be no link I can add to the index template that allows users to go to the authors profile. Only a link to the authors other posts which is useless in this situation.

    Comments seem to be posted with a link to the commenter but it doesn’t automatically do this for authors of posts.

    I don’t want to use comments as the replies to the post need to be private. I’ve looked in embedding forms in the index template but Contact Form 7 for example doesn’t support this and other forms just use some shortcode like [contact form] that relies on the author adding it manually, which leaves it open to being missed out.

    Any ideas you techno gurus?

  • Has anyone found a solution, yet? I’m looking for the same feature.
    Maybe there exists something in the plugin repo, but I’m not quite finished testing all of them.
