    Hi Folks,

I have tried to embed a local font to my site using the plugin, it seems to proceed fine but I cannot see the font in the Site Editor.

    Any advice?

Thanks for the plugin, saves a lot of hassle with the child theme creation.

  • Hi Carl, I was about to start a new support post here, but then I noticed your post. It seems you succeeded in uploading your font files – I have tried ttf, .woff, .woff2 file extensions, which should be supported according to the plugin information, but when I upload a file (no matter if it is .ttf, .woff or .woff2) it says: “The uploaded file is not valid.”

I am just curious if you experienced any trouble adding your font files?

    Hi Enestorm,

Sorry I can’t be much help – I don’t even get an error message!

I select the font (I’ve only tried .ttf), click the upload button, it does the spinning wheel thing, reloads the page and says nothing (no error, no success notification).

Then I check with FTP and there is nothing there, the Site Editor does not show the font as an option either, so I presume it just does not upload it.

I have since successfully uploaded the fonts via FTP to the theme ‘assets’ folder and added them to the ‘theme.json’ file by copying the syntax of existing registered fonts – and it’s all working fine for me now.

It would have been sweet if this plugin did it with the click of a button, but I guess not.

    Hope you get yours going,

    Carl

Thank you so much for answering, Carl.
So glad to hear that you found a workaround. Actually, your answer is very helpful to me, because it indicates that there is an error in this plugin that needs to be solved. That saves me a lot of time, trying to figure out if I did something wrong or if my font files are not valid. I might choose to install a plugin for the custom font in the meantime, but as you write: “It would have been sweet if this plugin did it with the click of a button”, I am still hoping for support and/or that the plugin authors are going to fix this soon.

    Best wishes, Ene.

This error should be fixed in the latest version.
Please, try again after updating your installation. Thanks!
