I often embed URLs to pages or posts (by pasting a URL on a separate line which creates an Embed block). These URLs all point to posts within the same website. This has always worked well. Recently that has stopped working though: I can see a <figure> element on the page but it has no content.

In the block editor, the embed is showing correctly. In the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme it works fine too.

I’ve tried disabling all plugins but that did not solve the issue.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I am having the exact same issue with the latest version 4.4.0 of the Astra theme! Rolling back to the previous version works for now.

something changed with the oembed filter in astra 4.4. when using borlabs cookie content blocker, pages with oembeds are not only destroyed (as there were a redundant closing tag). nothing works any more – it’s not possible to unlock the contents. had to roll back to astra 4.3.1 – but this cannot be the future of using Astra theme ??

by the way: cannot deactivate responsive wrapper any more with the astra_responsive_oembed_wrapper_enable filter.

Rolled back to 4.3.1 and indeed it’s working again.

Astra 4.4.0 makes all of my Twitter embeds using the WordPress Twitter embed blocks disappear from all posts. If you simply put the Twitter url in a shortcode block it appears with Astra 4.4.0. I rolled back to 4.3.1 as well so I could keep all my Twitter embeds on 6000 plus pages. Hope they find the bug….

    Hello Hermann,

unfortunately I can’t confirm the fix. The new version still completely destroys the layout. Can you check that again? – We use Borlabs and Elementor Pro.

    Thanks in advance!

Anyone else still experiencing the error?

    Hello Hermann,

we embed videos from Vimeo and use also Learndash. The fix unfortunately did not work for us. We embeded the videos in Posts and Learndash Courses via url. When updating the theme both layouts were destroyed and we only could fix it with a rollback to the previous version. We currently work with the version 4.3.1 of the theme (without any errors). Would be great if you can looking into it.

    Kind regards
