embedd Gists

Could the inclusion of code on Gist be made a little easier please? I know it works if you use the raw link, but I then need to add in a link to the gist itself manually. I am not certain if that link always takes you to the latest version or if it goes to the specific version.

I like what I get out of Crayon much better than the oembed-gist plugin, but that is more friendly in terms of how it presents the fact it is code from a gist.
