Embedded image code appearing in post excerpt

  • As title again, I have an embedded image near the beggining of one of my posts, and the code is appearing in the post excerpt on my homepage which looks really untidy. Anyone know a fix? Using Mantra theme by cryout creations.

  • I had this happen on one post. I’m using the Excerpt Editor plugin to control how many words to include in the excerpt if it is generated automatically from post text.

    Solution was to use the shortcode: <!–more–> placed before the image tag and to check the box in Excerpt Editor’s auto-generate screen to use it if present.

    If you use the editor to write a custom excerpt, then this is never a problem, as the image won’t be in the excerpt text.
