Embedded image fails to display

  • An embedded CGI script fails to present the camera snapshot image when using Chrome and Firefox. This happens to the page that is behind a password protected area of the web site even with the page-specific removed. However, the very same script on a page that’s NOT in the password protected area of the site works just fine.

    This is the script:

    The image in the link that you shared loaded without any issues.
    Is the problem solved or, are you referencing any other section?

    No. The problem is not fixed however I have a kinda(sic) found a workaround. I also understand the problem better.

    Posting that link helped provide a workaround though it’s not perfect. Unlike Edge, IE, Safari and Brave browsers, Chrome and Firefox is where I see the problem. The problem occurs when a user authenticates to the “Members Only” area and then tries to access the page containing the code pasted in the original post. The workaround is to take that same page and make it’s Parent, Main Page (no parent) and add protection. That allows all browsers except Firefox to see the image once the user authenticates. I can live with this though Firefox is a fairly popular browser.

    The core of the problem is that the cameras have a certificate that is not recognized by Firefox. That would be OK if Firefox did not force HTTPS and would allow HTTP in the url. Firefox app on my Android phone has no problem.

    Again, I appreciate your response. If there some suggestion, I’d love to hear it but I’ve been all over the Internet trying fixes for the Firefox problem. It appears to be browser specific and not server specific.
