Embedded MP3 Artwork Is stripped Out after upload to WordPress

I’m not sure how this works, but as far as I’m aware, when an mp3 file has artwork embedded, a media player would store a copy of this artwork in a dedicated folder. I think WordPress does the same. So if there’s artwork embedded in the mp3 file, it gets saved as an image as well, next to the sound-file.

It may be possible to write a function that prevents this from happening, but I would not be able to help you with that.

Alternatively, if you want your mp3 files to upload without artwork, you could remove the artwork before uploading the mp3 file.
