• Trying to embed a Tweet with either the Tweet’s URL or Twitter’s embed Tweet code only displays the Tweet in plain text.

Pasting the Tweet’s URL in the WordPress visual editor does load the proper Tweet formatting but only in the editor. Once you click preview or publish, it is shown on the page as plain text.

Edit: forgot to mention that yes, adblockers are disabled

Also, Instagram, Spotify and Youtube embeds all work properly.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

For some reason, Twitter’s stylesheets are probably being blocked on your site.

You haven’t listed a URL, so you’ll need to investigate this yourself. Go to a published page with an embedded tweet, press F12 to bring up the element inspector, and click on the “Console” tab to see if any errors are present.

There are no errors in the Developer Tools console.

    Disabling plugins didn’t work.

The strange thing is that I have a 2nd site on the network with the same theme, same network activated plugins and the embedded Tweet works there.

    Link to site?
